The University of Texas Press is very pleased to announce that Professor Charles Ramírez Berg has won the Hamilton Book Awards Grand Prize from the University Co-op Awards program.
This is the 20th annual presentation of the award, named for Professor Robert W. Hamilton, the Minerva House Drysdale Regents Chair-Emeritus in Law, who served as chairman of the board of the University Co-op from 1989 to 2001. Charles Ramírez Berg is Joe M. Dealy, Sr. Professor in Media Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where he has won every major teaching award. He is the author of several books, including Latino Images in Film: Stereotypes, Subversion, and Resistance and Cinema of Solitude: A Critical Study of Mexican Film, 1967–1983.
